OUR HISTORY
Casa Palaciega El Cuartel is located in the city’s historic center. It is one of the most important mansions in Medinaceli since the late 15th century, when it belonged to the main rabbi of the Jewish community. There are indications that it was also occupied by descendants of the great Almanzor, the ‘Victory of Allah’. It is also known for certain that it was acquired by the Marquises of Alcocebar in the 18th century and that upon their death it came to be owned by General Pruneda.
As Pruneda received many visits from military officers, he changed the name to the one it currently has. From him it passes to Ambassador Don Manuel García Miranda and, upon his death, to his widow Doña Ana María García Miranda, current owner of it and responsible for the new restoration and rehabilitation of one of its pavilions: La Real de Medinaceli.
